In My Kitchen

Well 2013 is flying past me – I must have blinked one too many times.  I enjoy participating in Cecilia’s “In My Kitchen” posts at Fig Jam and Lime Cordial.  Somehow I let February, and March slip through my buttered fingers and here we are way into April. Before it’s too late I wanted to share a couple of items “In My Kitchen”.

It’s interesting and part of the fun of blogging to take a peek into each others kitchens.  All of us, food bloggers, have well stocked kitchens.  Some big and fancy, some tight and efficient.  It seems for the most part that we all use our kitchens for more than cooking delicious food.  We write from our kitchens, our kids play in our kitchens, do homework and paint in our kitchens.  Our friends and families gather in our kitchens for a glass of wine and good conversation.  We peruse cookbooks in our kitchens, thumb through food magazines in our kitchens and of course we turn out yummy recipes in our kitchens.  The only thing missing from my kitchen is a comfy sofa or chair to plop down in….hmmm…a new project to undertake!

My man Dan went to the feed store to buy hay and feed for Fancy, our chocolate-brown horse and look what he came home with!  Farm fresh eggs from local free range chickens.  I couldn’t be happier about these eggs, speckled and in a range of colors from tan to cream.

Another favorite in my kitchen are these zesters.  I use them frequently.  If you don’t own one of these I urge you to run out and buy at least one.  If you only purchase one, make it the long skinny one, you won’t believe how easy it is to zest citrus fruits!

And last I’m continuing to enjoy these delicious, natural peanut butters from Pacific Beach Peanut Butter.  The plain one is delicious and only contains peanuts and a bit of salt.  The other two  flavored spreads which you may have already read about in my last post are versatile and delicious.

Come back soon to read my post about the incredibly delicious fish tacos, avocado salsa and chipotle mayo I served last night.

Enjoy!
