Chinese 5 Spice and Orange Banana Bread
 
Ingredients
  • ½ cup white sugar
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • ¼ cup vegetable oil
  • ¼ cup orange olive oil
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 3 ripe bananas, mashed
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon Chinese 5 Spice
  • ¼ cup orange juice
  • zest of one orange
  • ½ cup golden raisins
  • 1 tablespoon turbinado sugar
Instructions
  1. Preheat oven to 350*F.
  2. Beat sugar and oils in a bowl.
  3. Add in eggs, mashed banana and orange zest.
  4. Sift together dry ingredients and fold into banana mixture alternately with orange juice.
  5. Fold in raisins.
  6. Pour batter into a greased loaf pan (9x5) and sprinkle the top with turbinado sugar.
  7. Bake for 45 minutes to 1 hour.
  8. Loaf is done when a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  9. Cool for 10 minutes before turning out of pan.
