Chinese 5 Spice and Orange Banana Bread
- ½ cup white sugar
- ½ cup brown sugar
- ¼ cup vegetable oil
- ¼ cup orange olive oil
- 2 eggs, beaten
- 3 ripe bananas, mashed
- 2 cups flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- ½ teaspoon baking powder
- ½ teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon Chinese 5 Spice
- ¼ cup orange juice
- zest of one orange
- ½ cup golden raisins
- 1 tablespoon turbinado sugar
- Preheat oven to 350*F.
- Beat sugar and oils in a bowl.
- Add in eggs, mashed banana and orange zest.
- Sift together dry ingredients and fold into banana mixture alternately with orange juice.
- Fold in raisins.
- Pour batter into a greased loaf pan (9x5) and sprinkle the top with turbinado sugar.
- Bake for 45 minutes to 1 hour.
- Loaf is done when a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Cool for 10 minutes before turning out of pan.
